Current Consumption of Energy in Bulgaria is Growing Faster than Production

The electricity consumption continues to grow at a faster pace than that of the production, according to the ESO operating data. Data shows that by the end of November the consumption of electricity increased by 4.2% on an annual basis to 36.3 million megawatt hours.

Meanwhile, production is 41.4 million megawatts, an increase of 1.63% over January - November 2016, Investor.bg said.

Electric Cars with a Record Increase in Sales due to China

At global level, sales of electric vehicles are record high in the third quarter of this year, world news agencies said.

This is largely due to strong demand from China. The sale of electric and hybrid vehicles increased to 287 thousand for the period between July and September. This represents an increase of 63% compared to the same period of last year.

Work on Israel-Cyprus-Greece electricity link to start 2018

An official says work on an electric cable linking the power grids of Israel, Cyprus and Greece is on track to start in the first quarter of 2018 after Greek and Cypriot regulators approved the project.

Nasos Ktorides, who heads the EuroAsia Interconnector project, said Monday that Israeli regulators are expected to give their approval next month.

Sales of New Cars in Bulgaria with Growth of Over 15%

New car registrations in Bulgaria increased with impressive 15.5% in August compared to a year earlier to 2,344 cars, according to data from the Association of Automobile Manufacturers in Europe (ACEA).

From the beginning of the year until the end of August the registered new cars in our country increased by 18.1% yoy to a total of 19,556 cars.

China eyes petrol car ban, boosting electric vehicles

China is gearing up to ban petrol and diesel cars, a move that would boost electric vehicles and shake up the world's biggest car market in a country that is plagued by pollution.

The plan would follow decisions by France and Britain to outlaw the sale of such cars and vans from 2040 to clamp down on harmful emissions.

There are no Adequate Conditions for a Mass Influx of Electric Vehicles in Bulgaria

There are not enough conditions in Bulgaria that would to lead to the massive introduction of electric vehicles in a way that everyone would notice. A serious step in this direction would be the introduction of technical inspections and control of the technical condition of the vehicles.
