Montenegro's Economy Minister Vladimir Kavaric announced that his country desired to be included in the South Stream gas pipeline project.

Turkey has given the green light to the Environmental Impact Assessment (ÇED) report for the section of the South Stream Offshore Pipeline that will cross the country.

The Turkish Environment and Urbanization Ministry has approved the ÇED report that oversees the potential impact of the project on nature, a statement released by South Stream has said.

Turkey's Ministry of Environment and Urbanization has approved the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report for the offshore section of the South Stream gas pipeline.

The clearance for the offshore stretch of the gas pipeline crossing the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of Turkey was announced by the South Stream Transport company.

The Bulgarian Energy holding surprisingly decided to postpone a decision whether to receive a EUR 620 M from Gazprom for the construction of the South Stream pipeline.

BEH had planned to boost the capital of South Stream Bulgaria (a joint venture of the holding and Russian energy concern Gazprom) with the funds.

The EC has recommended to Serbia to suspend construction of the South Stream Pipeline until it is fully in line with European law, reports BTA quoting the Serbian daily Politika. 

South Stream puts Serbia in conflict with EU

BELGRADE - Companies South Stream Serbia and Centar Gas from Russia signed the Contract on the construction of the Serbian section of the main South Stream gas pipeline to the total value of EUR 2.1 billion.

The contract was signed by co-directors of South Stream Serbia Dusan Bajatovic and Aleksandar Siromjatin and Director General of Centre Gas Stanislav Anikeyev on Tuesday.

Contract signed to build South Stream in Serbia

BELGRADE -- South Stream Serbia and Russia's Centrgaz on Tuesday signed a contract on building the section of the South Stream pipeline through the Serbian territory.

BELGRADE - Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic said Tuesday that the visit of Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic to Moscow shows that Serbia pays special attention to its relations with Russia, not only in terms of foreign policy, but also bilateral economic ties.

“South Stream is very important for Bulgaria and south-eastern Europe,” Bulgarian Foreign Minister Kristian Vigenin said after talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Sofia on Monday.
