Blood sloshes and Nicolas Cage feasts in ‘Renfield’
"Renfield" is not Nicolas Cage's first blush with a vampire.
In 1988's "Vampire's Kiss," he played a New York literary agent who thought he was an immortal bloodsucker. His bug-eyed performance was essentially the birth of the over-the-top, kabuki-inflected mythology of Cage. Years later, it would launch a thousand memes, a kind of digital version of becoming undead.

Athens police crack bank safe box heist
Police say they have identified three members of an international crime gang who were behind the theft of the contents five safe deposit boxes from an Athens bank in July 2022.
The robbery took place in July 2022 in the Nea Smyrni suburb.
International prosecuting authorities also contributed to the investigation.

Scorsese, DiCaprio to premiere new film at Cannes
Martin Scorsese's new film starring Leonardo DiCaprio, "Killers of the Flower Moon," will get its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 20, organizers confirmed on Friday.
It will be the first time the veteran filmmaker presents a new film at the festival since he won best director there in 1986 for "After Hours".

‘Great Expectations’ serves up another grim revision
After a bleak reimagining of "A Christmas Carol" in 2019, Steven Knight is back to give another Charles Dickens tale, "Great Expectations," similar treatment, with equally grim results. While the underlying story is better suited to such tinkering, even Olivia Colman's toothy performance can't salvage this six-part production, meaning viewers should set their expectations accordingly.
