Pilots for German airline Lufthansa announced they would extend until March 20 a strike that has already hit tens of thousands of passengers and seen hundreds of flights cancelled in a dispute over a retirement scheme.
      

German airline Lufthansa cancelled around 750 short- and medium-haul flights Wednesday, hitting tens of thousands of passengers, as pilots staged fresh strike action in a bitter dispute over early retirement.
      

All ten Lufthansa-operated flights between Sofia and Munich and Frankfurt are cancelled on Wednesday due to the announced 12-hour strike of the airline's pilots.

The German airline cancelled on Wednesday 750 out of its 1400 scheduled domestic and European, which is expected to affect 80 000 passengers, the Business Insider reports.
