Dubai – Slovenia will be showcased as a green and smart country at Expo 2020 Dubai, which opens its doors to exhibitors and visitors on Friday. Slovenia’s pavilion will paint the country as a green oasis in Europe under the slogan Slovenia – Green Smart Experience.

On September 27, customs officers at Dubai airport detained and questioned members of the Bulgarian delegation for Expo 2021, who were carrying a replica of the Panagyurishte Gold Treasure in their hand luggage. It was to adorn the Bulgarian pavilion.

Romania's Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai (October 1 - March 31, 2022) was built in the spirit of maximum simplicity, "a purity that is inspired by Brancusi's legacy", and the materials used will be recycled at the end of the exhibition, Adrian Soare, the pavilion's architect, said on Monday. Ljubljana – The organisers of the Slovenian Expo 2020 pavilion invited Slovenian companies to join the world exposition in Dubai with an online event on Wednesday. “Expo 2020 will likely be the only major international event for a long while, thus we would like for Slovenia to use it well,” said Tomaž Kostanjevec, director of the SPIRIT agency.

Ljubljana – Preparations for the 2020 Dubai Expo are going as planned despite the pandemic, Omar Shehadeh, chief international participants officer for the Expo 2020 Dubai told the STA in an interview. He said every participating country would have a pavilion of its own for the first time ever and that he was excited about Slovenia’s contribution.

Dubai – Economy Minister Zdravko Počivalšek symbolically took over on behalf of Slovenia the management of the country’s pavilion at the Expo 2020 in Dubai as part of his official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The minister said at the ceremony on Tuesday that “Slovenia will show know-how, innovation and energy at the Expo”.

Dubai – Economy Minister Zdravko Počivalšek met Emirati Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber in Abud Dhabi on Monday as he started an official visit to the United Arab Emirates. The pair agreed that bilateral cooperation could improve and expressed support for such efforts, the Economy Ministry said.

Ljubljana – Slovenia is to take over the management of its pavilion at Expo Dubai next week on the sidelines of Economy Minister Zdravko Počivalšek’s visit to the United Arab Emirates. The exhibition is to help with Slovenia’s economic recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic, said the minister Tuesday.

The EXPO fairground, worth 1.8 billion Turkish Liras ($241 million) in Turkey's Mediterranean province of Antalya, will turn into a giant film set and rival Hollywood.
