Turkey has ?strongly condemned? Israel for use of disproportionate force against Palestinians, calling for an urgent end to ?its provocative and arbitrary practices.?

Israel carried out an air strike on the Gaza Strip early on Oct.5 in response to a Palestinian rocket attack from the territory, an army statement said. 

"Israel Air Force aircraft targeted a Hamas terror site in the northern Gaza Strip," it said.
 
The rocket was fired into southern Israel late on Oct.4 but hit open ground, the army said.    

The Israeli military said Sept. 3 its air force had attacked a Hamas military position in the Gaza Strip overnight from which gunfire had hit homes in southern Israel.

Israel launched an air strike against a Hamas facility on Aug. 27 in response to a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army said. 

The Palestinian Authority on August 18 accused Hamas of holding secret talks with Israel that would endorse the separation of Palestinian territories.

Israel said on August 17 it was not engaged in talks with Hamas following a flurry of media reports suggesting the two sides were discussing a long-term ceasefire.

Football players from the Gaza Strip were able to exit the coastal enclave on Aug. 12 for the return leg of a match being seen as a symbolic step toward Palestinian unity, officials said.

A Palestinian man fell to his death while trying to escape Israeli forces who were attempting to arrest him in the occupied West Bank early on July 27, Israeli police said.

Jihadists in the Gaza Strip have threatened to fire rockets at Israel in response to a Hamas crackdown on extremists in the Palestinian territory.

The threat came in reaction to the arrest of militants suspected of targeting members of Hamas's armed wing on July 19 with a series of bombings.

Turkey is set to build a 20,000-seat stadium to international standards in the Gaza Strip to support sports in Palestine, officials revealed on July 14.

A member of the Higher Council of Youth and Sports in the Gaza Strip, Abd al-Salam Haniyeh, said the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (T?KA) would build the stadium.
