An Israeli air strike killed two Palestinians in Gaza Sunday as militants kept up rocket fire, a day after an Egyptian call for an open-ended ceasefire to enable new truce talks.
      
The pace of Israeli raids was slower than Saturday when at least 60 strikes pounded Gaza, killing 10 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and bringing down a 12-storey apartment block.

Israel and the Palestinians agreed to a fresh 72-hour ceasefire in Gaza Aug. 10, accepting an Egyptian invitation to resume talks to end fighting that has killed more than 2,000 people.

Deadly hostilities engulfed Gaza on Aug. 8 once again where a 10-year-old boy was killed and Israeli warplanes struck targets in retaliation for dozens of Palestinian cross-border rockets attacks.
