The body of a 42-year-old surfer, whose traces were lost in the sea area of Chrysi Akti (Golden Coast) in Paros on Tuesday, was found by a coast guard boat near the beach on Friday.

According to reports, the 42-year-old had gone out with a friend to surf. However, his friend at some point lost track of him and returned to report him missing.

At least 27 migrants and refugees were located on a country road on the island of Skyros on Wednesday while a sailing boat and an auxiliary boat used for their transport were found in a nearby bay.

According to the Coast Guard, the migrants were seven women, three male minors and 17 men.

The sailing boat was confiscated and towed to the port of Linaria.

Coast Guard officers on the Argosaronic island of Spetses on Friday arrested a 52-year-old speedboat operator who was allegedly conducting dangerous maneuvers with his boat in front of the pier of a hotel on the island's coastline on Thursday night. 

A passerby who noticed the boat alerted the Coast Guard. 

The armed men that last week immobilized and disarmed two members of a unit from the Piraeus coast guard which had just completed a drugs raid at a squat in the central Athens district of Exarchia had posed as police officers, Kathimerini understands. 

Five people, including three children, died after a boat carrying 15 migrants sank off the coast of western Turkey on Monday, the Turkish coast guard said.

It said five others were missing and a search was underway.

A boat carrying six migrants overturned northeast of Farmakonisi island in the eastern Aegean on Thursday.

The Greek coast guard is conducting a search and rescue operation, while officers have already saved two men and a 12-year-old girl.

Three immigrants died on Monday after the smuggling boat they were in crashed on to rocks off the coast of Rhodes in the southeastern Aegean even as hundreds of migrants remained unaccounted for off Italy following similar tragedies.
