Lebanon was plunged into a total blackout on Oct. 9 after two main power stations went offline because they ran out of fuel, the state electricity corporation said.
The Mediterranean country is battling one of the planet's worst economic crises since the 1850s, and has in recent months struggled to import enough fuel oil for its power plants.
Israeli army launches artillery towards Lebanon in response to rocket fire
As stated, the air defense intercepted one of the missiles, and the other fell on the open area. There were no reports of injuries or damage.
Rocket fire from Lebanon is the first such cross-border incident since May when Palestinian extremists fired rockets at Israel during the 11-day war between the Israeli military and extremists Hamas, which rules in the Gaza Strip.
Israel under attack
The Israeli army announced that it responded to the attack with artillery fire, Reuters reports. Other agencies report that no one was injured, nor was any material damage done.
One of the rockets was shot down by the air defense, and the other fell on an uninhabited area, the army added.

Greek Cypriot court upholds Hezbollah suspect’s US extradition
Greek Cyprus' supreme court on May 29 upheld an order to extradite a suspected Hezbollah member to the U.S. on money laundering charges, official media said.
A five-judge bench unanimously dismissed an appeal against a decision by a lower court in September 2019 to extradite the man, identified only by his surname Diab, the Greek Cyprus News Agency said.
Germany bans Hezbollah’s political wing
Germany has banned Hezbollah entirely, the Interior Ministry announced on April 30.
Interior Ministry spokesman Steve Alter described Hezbollah a "Shia terrorist organization" in a statement he posted on Twitter, and said Interior Minister Horst Seehofer has ordered a ban Thursday on the activities of the group in Germany.

Assad regime says Israel targeted Homs
The Syrian regime on March 31 claimed that Israeli fighter jets carried missile strikes in Homs province.
The SANA news agency affiliated with the Assad regime said: "At 20:25 of March 31, the Israeli warplanes launched a number of missiles, from over Lebanon, into the direction of eastern Homs.
