Bulgaria is now fully prepared for the migrant wave and is expecting it, but is not so attractive anymore, said Nikolai Chirpanliev, head of the State Refugee Agency (SRA). 

Bulgaria's Interior Ministry and Refugee Agency do not expect a wave of refugees, turned away from other EU countries. 

According to deputy interior minister Plamen Angelov, so far there are single inquiries from Germany and Hungary. 

Angelov told the BNR public broadcaster that the turning away of refugees in the EU is in accordance with the Dublin Regulation. 

Bulgaria is ranked sixth in the world in terms of mortality rates in CIA's World Factbook for March 2014, published on the website of the agency.

Amnesty International

European countries must not transfer any asylum seekers to Bulgaria until the country truly improves its appalling reception conditions and addresses its deeply flawed asylum procedures, said Amnesty International.

1,539 people sought asylum in January and February

"This data indicates that there will be more and more people seeking political asylum in Serbia and that it is something to consider," Executive Director of the Asylum Protection Centre Rados Djurovic has told Tanjug.

The delayed monthly financial aid for refugees will be paid by Friday, Vasil Danov of Bulgaria's State Agency for Refugees confirmed.

The February payments of BGN 65 have been delayed by the Financial Ministry and the Interior Ministry, Danov told Darik news.
