Lili Ivanova, the iconic figure of Bulgarian pop music, has graced Brussels with her presence, gearing up for a much-anticipated concert at Flagey, a renowned cultural venue nestled by the scenic lakes of Ixelles in the Belgian capital.

Today, Bulgarian Prime Minister, Nikolai Denkov, kick-started the World Economic Forum in Davos with recommendations for EU scientific innovation. Denkov participated in the first session of the Forum under the title "Europe's Rush to Innovate", alongside EU Commissioner, Iliana Ivanova.

The European Commission announced that they interviewed the candidates for European Commissioner of the Bulgarian government - Daniel Laurer and Iliana Ivanova.

The Council of Ministers today discusses the proposal of candidates for European Commissioner. Two candidacies were presented, an opportunity provided in Ursula von der Leyen's letter. The two candidates are Daniel Laurer and Iliana Ivanova. Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov told the media after the extraordinary meeting of the government.

Iliana Ivanova, a member of the European Court of Auditors, is GERB's nominee for European Commissioner, said party leader Boyko Borissov.

The new Bulgarian EU commissioner will likely be named in the beginning of 2017, according to the European edition of the website ''Politico''.

Bulgaria is among the countries without any mistakes in the management of projects under the cohesion policy of the EU, showed the annual report of the European Court of Auditors on the implementation of the European budget for 2015, presented to the Council of Ministers by the Bulgarian representative in the institution Iliana Ivanova.

Former Bulgarian Minister of Environment Iskra Mihailova became the first Bulgarian MEP to head a committee in the European Parliament. 

On Monday she was elected chair of the Regional Policies Committee. The committee is instrumental in defining the European policies on distribution of European funds. 

Bulgaria's center-right opposition party GERB has announced its list for May 25's European Elections.
