Consumer confidence declines in June

The consumer confidence index that inched up 0.4 percent in May declined by 6.2 percent monthly in June, according to data released on June 22. 

The index, which stood at 81.7 in June 2021, declined from 67.8 in May to 63.4, this month, showed the regular consumer tendency survey conducted jointly by the Central Bank and the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK).

Economic morale skids to 98.2 points in February

Economic confidence index dropped 2.6 percent month on month in February, according to figures released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) on Feb. 25.

From 100.8 last January, the index fell to 98.2, official data showed. A rating above 100 indicates an optimistic outlook for the overall economic situation, while a value below 100 indicates a negative assessment.

Turkey's economic confidence index hit the highest level since April 2018 by increasing 1.6% month-on-month to 102.4 in Sept., the country's statistical institute said on Sept. 29. 

The increase stemmed from rises in consumer, real sector, services and retail trade confidence indices, TÜİK data showed.

Consumer confidence continues to deteriorate

Ljubljana – Consumer confidence in Slovenia deteriorated for the third month in a row in September as the relevant indicator was down by one percentage point compared to August, which the Statistics Office attributes to more pessimistic expectations regarding the economic situation in the country and financial situation in households.
