Economic confidence index slips in April

The economic confidence index declined by 1 percent monthly in April after climbing 1 percent in March to fall below the 100-mark, data from the Turkish Statistics (TÜİK) have shown.

Any figure above the 100 mark points to optimism regarding the general economic situation.

The gauge of economic confidence fell to 99 in April.

Consumer confidence improves in April

Confidence among Turkish consumers improved for a second month in a row in April, according to a survey conducted jointly by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TÜİK) and the Central Bank.

The headline consumer confidence index rose by 1.4 percent month-on-month to 80.5, after inching up 0.02 percent in March.

Any figure below the 100 mark indicates pessimism among consumers.

Consumer mood continues to improve

Consumer sentiment rose for a fourth consecutive month in December, the survey carried out jointly by the Central Bank and the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has shown.

The consumer confidence index advanced 2.6 percent month-on-month after rising 1.1 percent in November to touch 77.4 points.

Any index figure above 100 indicates optimism among consumers.

The consumer confidence index increased by 6.1 in August from July, rising for a second straight month, data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) have shown.

The headline gauge of consumer morale climbed from 68 in July to 72 in August. Any index figure above the 100-mark indicates optimism among consumers.
