A mass blackout has thrown numerous websites on the Russian-speaking internet into chaos, reports The Moscow Times. On Tuesday evening, a DNSSEC failure led to the outage of crucial .ru and .рф domains, leaving users both inside and outside Russia grappling with disruptions to popular platforms.

The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has told law enforcement bodies to suppress unsanctioned protests planned for January 23, demanding that access to websites calling on citizens to take to the streets be blocked, the press service of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office informed TASS on Thursday.

Kyiv security services on May 29 said they were conducting searches in the Ukrainian offices of the popular Russian internet company Yandex as part of a treason probe.

"The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) is conducting searches in the offices of the subsidiary of the Russian company Yandex in Kiev and Odessa", SBU spokeswoman Olena Gitlyanska wrote on her Facebook page.

BELGRADE - At a meeting of the Valdai international discussion club, Putin said he shares the opinion of one of the forum's participants that Russia and the United States should proceed to a new level of relations, TASS reports.
