Eminent scientist Theodore Papazoglou dies at 57 after contracting coronavirus

The eminent scientist and researcher Theodore Papazoglou has died at the age of 57 after contracting the coronavirus, reports said on Monday. 

Papazoglou passed away at a Brussels hospital after several days in intensive care, the same reports indicated. 

Teen from Irakleio who pulled out fake gun in school sent to prosecutor

A secondary school pupil from the area of Mesara, near the port of Irakleio, Crete, who pulled out a gun on the school premises on Wednesday, appeared before a prosecutor on Thursday.
The local police, who were notified immediately by school staff, found the gun near the school and established that it was fake.

Probe launched after pupil pulls out gun at Irakleio school

Police on Crete launched an investigation after a secondary school pupil in the area of Mesara, near the port of Irakleio, pulled out a gun on the school premises. 

The local police were notified immediately by school staff and were looking into the exact circumstances of the incident that led to no injuries as the pupil did not fire the gun.

Man, 45, critical after being hit by stray bullet on Crete

A 45-year-old man was in the intensive care unit of the Irakleio University Hospital on Crete on Friday after being hit in the chest by a stray bullet during an outdoor event in a village in the area of Acharnon-Asterousion.

Local police were seeking to determine the exact circumstances of the man's injury.
