The Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MİT) has neutralized Muhsin Yağan, a senior PKK/YPG terrorist who was the local leader of northern Syria's Qamishli province, Demirören News Agency has reported.

Two terrorists, one of them Yusif Mehmud Rebani, who is code-named Rezan Cavit and the local leader of the Amuda and al-Darbasiyah regions, east of the Euphrates, have been neutralized by the National Intelligence Organization (MİT).

The MİT carried out the operation in line with the information obtained from the field agents after establishing a special team.

Iran's elite Revolutionary Guard says it has killed 10 militants in a Kurdish region near the border with Iraq.

Turkey should be in constant cooperation with Iran in the fight against the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) but Tehran is in a "de-escalation" process with the group's affiliate Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK) at the moment, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said on June 22.

Turkey is in contact with Iran about conducting a military operation against outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants in the northern Iraqi region of Kandil by the Iranian border, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşolu said on June 13. 

The body of a woman, who died after a private Turkish jet crashed in Iran on March 11, is claimed to be missing, the Iranian authorities have stated.

Turkish Defense Minister Nurettin Canikli and the U.S. Secretary of State James Mattis discussed the issue of Iran's "malign influence in the region" on Aug. 23, according to a statement released from the Pentagon.

Mattis and Canikli discussed the topic during the former's visit to Ankara, where he also held talks with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

A joint military operation against the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the Kandil region along the Iraq-Iran border is on the agenda, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has stated.

"Taking joint action with Iran is always on the agenda," Erdoğan told reporters on Aug. 21 before departing on a trip to Jordan.
