Baby seal shelters from snow in Antalya marina
A baby seal became disoriented due to heavy snowfall and storms on the night of Jan. 17, taking shelter on land in the Kaleiçi Marina in the southern Turkish resort province of Antalya.
Locals noticed the seal and called the Coast Guard at 3:00 a.m. on Jan. 18.

Five injured in metrobus accident in Istanbul
Five passengers were injured when two metrobuses collided near Istanbul's Merter neighborhood, while the accident blocked the city's metrobus route in the Avc?lar direction.
On the morning of Jan. 18 a metrobus hit another from behind amid a heavy snow storm in Istanbul.
Five passengers were injured in the accident and transferred to a nearby hospital.

Students wounded in schoolyard blast in southeastern Turkey: Reports
An explosion has occurred at a school in the southeastern province of Kilis amid reports of wounded students.
The blast reportedly took place at 9.30 a.m. on Jan. 18 at Eyüp Gökçe Secondary School in central Kilis.
Flights, ferries canceled in Istanbul due to snow storm
Heavy snowfall has severely affected transportation in Istanbul as flights and ferries were canceled and schools were closed by a snow storm that is expected to continue until late Jan. 19.
Turkish Airlines (THY) announced on Jan. 18 that 137 flights scheduled from Istanbul Atatürk Airport and Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport had been canceled due to the adverse weather conditions.
