Erdoğan Demirören remembered on his death anniversary

Prominent Turkish industrialist and businessman Erdoğan Demirören, who was the founder of Demirören Holding, which is one of Türkiye's largest conglomerates, has been commemorated on the fifth anniversary of his death.

On June 8, 2018, Demirören lost his life in a hospital in Istanbul, where he received treatment for respiratory failure for a while at the age of 80.

BluTV turns one with first TV series

Turkey's first digital TV platform, BluTV, celebrated its first anniversary on Jan. 23 at an event held at the Trump Towers Cinemaximum Movie Theaters, during which Turkey's first online TV series, "Masum" (Innocent), was also launched. 

The event was attended by Doğan Holding Honorary Chairman Aydın Doğan, Doğan TV managers, "Masum" actors as well as press members and many guests. 

Golden Butterfly Awards recognize best of Turkey's TV and music world

The 43rd Pantene Golden Butterfly Awards were presented on Nov. 13 at a ceremony held at Istanbul's Zorlu Center PSM, rewarding the best of Turkey's television and music world. 

The award winners were selected with the votes of readers of daily Hürriyet, and the ceremony was broadcast live on Kanal D and CNN Türk.

Should the TV host be happy women and children are dying?

During the "Beyaz Show" on Kanal D, a woman claiming to be a teacher called in and said: "Are you aware of what is going on in the east, in the southeast of Turkey?" (Applause from the audience) "Here, unborn children, mothers and people are being killed. There are pathetic people who rejoice at children dying.
