The joint presidential candidate of the Nation Alliance and chairman of the Republican People's Party (CHP), Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, has reiterated his vow to appoint 100,000 teachers if elected in the next elections and recruit officials based on their merit.

Nation Alliance's presidential candidate and Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu said he would declare his personal assets to the public when his nomination for upcoming presidential elections becomes certain.

According to a temporary list published in the Official Gazette by the Supreme Election Board (YSK), the people of Türkiye will elect its new president out of four contenders, including President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the opposition candidate, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

Ekrem İmamoğlu and Mansur Yavaş, mayors of Istanbul and Ankara respectively, will serve as the vice presidents if the Nation Alliance wins the presidential polls, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the joint candidate of the opposition and Chairman of the Republican People's Party (CHP) stated.

Muharrem İnce, the chairman of the Homeland Party, has garnered the support of more than 100,000 people to make him the third contender for the next presidential polls after President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the oppositional candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

Türkiye will be at a crossroads on May 14 when the millions of voters will cast their votes to elect the president and the Parliament, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said, adding everyone in the region and in the world is focused on the Turkish elections.

Nation Alliance candidate for presidential elections and Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu said on March 23 that he will visit all political parties ahead of the elections, including the Homeland Party of former main opposition presidential candidate Muharrem İnce.

Voters have been applying to the relevant district election boards since March 22 to sign in favor of presidential candidates that need at least 100,000 signatures to run at the May 14 polls. The signature process will continue until March 27.

"We will not nominate a candidate in the presidential elections," the Labour and Freedom Alliance said.

Turkey's pro-Kurdish political party and its allies said Wednesday that they won't field a candidate to run in the country's May 14 presidential election, a move that could boost an opposition bloc's chances of unseating President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
