The nominee for Bulgaria's new Minister of Internal Affairs, Atanas Ilkov, has stated that his primary focus will be to ensure fair and transparent elections. In a recent interview with BNR, Ilkov emphasized his commitment to meeting public expectations by maintaining public order and overseeing a just electoral process.

Next week, "We Continue the Change" (WCC) plans to propose a change to the contentious definition of "non-traditional sexual orientation" in the Preschool and School Education Act, according to a party announcement.

Kiril Petkov confirmed that there had indeed been discussions within the "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB) coalition about the possibility of removing Raya Nazaryan from her position as Speaker of the National Assembly.

Boyko Borissov has claimed that a majority in the Bulgarian parliament is forming around Delyan Peevski, Kostadin Kostadinov, and Kiril Petkov. Speaking on the sidelines of the parliament, Borissov criticized the media's portrayal of the political dynamics, asserting that Peevski, Kostadinov, and Petkov have successfully gathered a majority.

"We Continue the Change" (WCC) has convened its National Council to deliberate on whether to accept the proposal from "Democratic Bulgaria" to jointly attempt to form a government with the second mandate.

GERB leader Boyko Borissov Thursday said that his party will not make a coalition with the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), as GERB stated as early as three months ago. Talking to reporters, Borissov said further that the negotiations had proved in an indisputable way that GERB neither asked for support from the MRF nor gave support to that party. 

"We Continue the Change" (WCC) has declared its decision not to participate in government negotiations within Bulgaria's 50th National Assembly. The stance, affirmed by the party's National Council and endorsed at a meeting of WCC deputies, reflects a firm rejection of engaging in talks for a third government term.

Boyko Borissov, leader of GERB, declared to journalists in parliament that negotiations for a second or third mandate are off the table, asserting that Bulgaria is heading towards elections. He quipped about the prospects of a GERB government, calling it a jest amid what he described as a somber day following recent events.

President Rumen Radev met with representatives of the coalition "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB), marking his third round of consultations with parliamentary parties.

Today marks the second day of the inaugural session of the 50th National Assembly, after failing to elect a speaker yesterday. Raya Nazaryan's candidacy garnered support from GERB, DPS, and Hristo Prodanov of BSP, totaling 116 votes initially. However, Prodanov voted "against" in the second round.
