Bulgaria's Kubrat Pulev Claims European Heavyweight Title

Bulgarian boxer Kubrat Pulev claimed the vacant European heavyweight title after defeating Dereck Chisora from the UK at the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg on Saturday.

The winner was determined with a split decision after twelve rounds. The judges scored 118-110 and 116-112 for Pulev and 115-113 for Chisora.

Bulgarian former heavyweight boxing champion Kubrat Pulev on Saturday scored his 22nd victory and his 12th knockout againstv Maurice Harris (US).

Bookmakers were strongly in favour of Pulev well before the match, which took place less than two months after Pulev's return to the professional ring.

Bulgarian heavyweight boxer Kubrat Pulev will face a yet-unknown opponent on 26 September in Berlin in his first fight since losing as an IBF mandatory challenger to champion Wladimir Klitschko last year.

Pulev will fight in the Max Schmeling Hall as part of a gala show marking the 35th anniversary of  his promoters Sauerland Event, according to boxingscene.com.

Klitschko Hit Pulev With Force Equalling 450 Kg

Heavyweight world boxing champion Wladimir Klitschko hit contender Kubrat Pulev with a force equalling 450 kg in the third round of the boxing match between the two on November 15 in Hamburg, writes Bild.de.

Pulev, who was knocked out in the fifth round, sustained series of hard blows and got knocked down twice in the first round and once in the third.

Bulgarian boxer Kubrat Pulev got knocked down by Ukrainian heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in a long-waited match held late on Saturday, November 15.

Pulev fought hard despite falling down two times well in the first round, but failed to get back to his feet after a strong left punch which prevented him from making it through the fifth round eleven seconds before the end.
