Russian President Vladimir Putin approved a state of emergency in the Arctic city of Norilsk on Jue 3 after a huge leak of fuel into a river and upbraided a senior official on television over what he said was a bungled state response.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday ordered a state of emergency and criticized a subsidiary of metals giant Norilsk Nickel after a massive diesel spill into a Siberian river.

The Tunguska event was a large explosion that occurred near the Stony Tunguska River, in Yeniseysk Governorate in Russia. On June 30, 1908, a fireball was seen streaking across the daytime sky and within moments something exploded in the atmosphere.

Fifteen people were killed and ten others are in intensive care after a Russian Mi-8 helicopter crashed in the Krasnoyarsk territory in Eastern Siberia on Thursday.

Earlier reports suggested that the crash claimed the lives of twelve people, TASS news agency informs.

There were 25 people on board the helicopter, among them 22 passengers and three crew members.
