A long road ahead of us
The tourism sector has emerged as a heavyweight among Greek industries, having withstood the test of time and the storm of the crisis. For this reason, we must protect it as much as possible.
We simply cannot keep making our tourism goals all about breaking records in terms of arrivals and how much they spend. We must have high-quality and profitable tourism.

Tourism Minister says arrivals will top 30 mln this year
The tourism sector is showing genuine signs of growth this year that suggest it will be the main driver of the Greek recovery, as it will help state revenues, the private economy, the country's current accounts and employment. The government is for the first time speaking of 30 million arrivals in 2017.
Will tourism infrastructure meet demand?
Greece's biggest challenge in tourism this year will be how to best manage an expected record number of arrivals, as the country already receives a tourism inflow that is almost three times its population every year, according to the new head of the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE), Yiannis Retsos.

Annual increase in Chinese arrivals will not reach 10 pct
Greece can only expect a moderate increase in Chinese tourism arrivals this year, less than 10 percent up on last season, according to the General Panhellenic Federation of Tourism Enterprises (GEPOET), which took part in the ITB China 2017 fair earlier this month.
