Former US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he pleads not guilty to charges that he smuggled classified documents out of the White House.

Trump appeared in federal court in Florida, setting off a legal battle that is likely to play out over the months as Trump campaigns for the November 2024 presidential election.

US President Donald Trump has pardoned his former campaign manager Paul Manafort, ex-adviser Roger Stone and the father of Mr Trump's son-in-law.

Mr Manafort was convicted in 2018 in an investigation into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 US election.

Mr Trump had previously commuted the prison sentence of Mr Stone, who was convicted of lying to Congress.

US President Donald Trump said he was ready to be questioned by Special Prosecutor Robert Muller, investigating possible collusion between his election team and Russia for interference in the 2016 elections.

"I'm really looking forward to it," Trump said in a statement in The White House in front of media representatives.
