Ljajic: E-business law most significant in telecommunications

BELGRADE - The passage of the law on e-business was the most significant thing in the Serbian telecommunications sector in 2017, which will also be a record year in terms of all parameters in tourism, says Serbian Deputy PM Rasim Ljajic, who is also minister of trade, tourism and telecommunications.

Ljajic: No reason to fear GMOs

BELGRADE - Serbian citizens have no reason for fear in case of any changes to regulations on marketing of GMOs because the law will strictly note that cultivation of such organisms is explicitly forbidden, says Serbian Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic.

Ljajic: No reconciliation in Balkans

BELGRADE - Serbian Deputy PM Rasim Ljajic says he is sceptical about the reconciliation process in the Balkans and that the region lacks readiness to face the past.

"None of the sides will budge an inch and I am very sceptical about the possibility of reconciliation... That narrative hardly takes hold," Ljajic told the N1 on Thursday.

"Every home will have at least 30 mbps internet connection"

Rasim Ljajic announced on Wednesday a plan to provide "every citizen" in Serbia with internet connections of a minimum 30 megabits per second.

The minister of trade and telecommunications, who is also one of Serbia's deputy prime ministers, added that "at least 50 percent of all households" will have 100 mbps download speeds.

Arabs show great interest in buying Serbian water

The company Voda Voda from Mionica in western Serbia and Caro General Trading from Kuwait have signed a contract, the government announced.

Under it, three million liters of water will be exported from Serbia in Kuwait.

This is according to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic, who attended the signing.
