Maiden flight

Istanbul Airport has witnessed a historical moment while hosting the world's two biggest planes, an airliner and a cargo plane, at the same time on Oct. 5.
"World's biggest cargo plane named 'Mriya' and world's biggest airliner, an Airbus A380 type jumbo jet, could be screened at the same photo-shoot in a rare event," airport officials said.

Russia carried out the maiden flight of its new MS-21 medium-range passenger plane on May 28, its first post-Soviet foray into production of a mainline commercial aircraft which it hopes will rival those of its Western competitors.

Russia's МС-21 jet has left the assembly line at the Irkutsk aviation plant and is being prepared for its maiden flight, Izvestia daily reports.
