Respected Greek singers Elli Paspala and Maria Farantouri will appear together on the stage of Pireos 131 for Paspala's last concert of the season dedicated to jazz music. They will present a program of popular tunes by Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra.

Dora Bakopoulos, the artistic director of the Aegina International Music Festival, will be inaugurating the 14th edition of the annual event on the Saronic island on August 7. For almost three weeks, classical music aficionados will be able to enjoy performances by a plethora of musicians from Greece and abroad.

Maria Farantouri will perform at the open-air Herod Atticus Theater on Thursday, June 22. In this first part of the program, the acclaimed Greek vocalist will be joined by soloists Anja Lechner (violoncello), Meri Vardanyan (qanon), Christos Barbas (ney) and Izzet Kizil (percussion) in works written for her voice by Turkish composer Cihan Turkoglu with lyrics by Agathi Dimitrouka.

Maria Farantouri, known for her interpretations of landmark songs by Mikis Theodorakis, Manos Hadjidakis, Eleni Karaindrou, Dionysis Savvopoulos, Thanos Mikroutsikos and other emblematic Greek composers, is performing at the Parnassos Literary Society venue on Fridays March 4 and 10.
