Lake Marmara, a major bird sanctuary in the western province of Manisa, has dried up due to drought, causing families to fight over land conflict.

While one person lost his life and two people were injured in four separate land fights on the lake, three of the eight people detained were arrested.

All conditions are set for the formation of new mucilage in the Marmara Sea considering the latest photos, according to Mustafa Sarı, a member of the Mucilage Science Board and a professor from Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University.

"When you look at Bandırma Bay, for example, you see three different colors, brown, turquoise and dark green."

Benthos such as thornback, flounder, needlefish, blenny and crab, which had left the Marmara Sea last summer, has returned, according to experts who divided into the waters along the coast of Eskihisar in the northwestern province of Kocaeli's Gebze district to investigate the destructive effect of mucilage.

A new precipitation wave will impact the northern provinces along the Black Sea shores through the week, said the meteorologists, warning many provinces of thunder-boomers and floodings.

According to the State Meteorological Service, there will be rainfalls in the Marmara region, some Aegean provinces, the provinces near the Georgian border.

With no signs of mucilage and the reproduction of an endangered species, the submerged İnönü vessel has become a light of hope to experts that the Marmara Sea is "not dying."
