Turkish voters head to polls in key local elections
Türkiye is gearing up for local elections that will shape the country's administrative landscape for the next five years, with more than 61 million voters expected to head to the polls on March 31.

Today Bulgarians Vote in the Local Government Elections
Today, Bulgarians will vote in local government elections. The vote is for municipal councilors, mayors of municipalities, town halls and regions in the three largest cities - Sofia, Varna and Plovdiv. The formed sections are over 12,300.

Walks in Parks are Allowed but under some Conditions
As of April 27, walks in parks will be allowed, but mayors will decide when to allow them to open once they have organized the rules and the control on the access.
By an order issued by Bulgaria's Minister of Health Kiril Ananiyev, visits to parks will be allowed for the following persons:
Aegean island residents against closed centers
Mayors of islands where the government plans to create new closed centers for migrants via expropriations have expressed their vehement opposition and have declined, in protest, to attend a scheduled meeting Thursday with Migration Minister Notis Mitarakis. Moreover, a protest rally will be held Thursday by residents of Lesvos island outside the Interior Ministry in Athens.

PM Orban says current system restricts citizens' right to replace unsatisfactory mayors
The government has made the decision to assume responsibility before Parliament for amending the law on local elections so that the voting system bestows legitimacy on elected mayors, as the current mechanism restricts the right of dissatisfied citizens to replace a mayor who does not his or her job, Prime Minister Ludovic Orban said on Wednesday.
Gov't approves two-round mayoral elections and will assume responsibility for draft in Parliament
The Government approved the draft on the election of mayors in two rounds, will assume responsibility for this legislative initiative, and will send Parliament a letter on this matter on Monday, Prime Minister's Chancellery head Ionel Danca announced.
