Greek industrial group Mytilineos has donated 65 ventilators for use in the country's intensive care units following an agreement with the Health Ministry, the company announced on Thursday.

Turkey has subjected ventilators to export control in order to meet domestic demand amid the coronavirus pandemic, the country's trade minister said on March 26.

"Ventilator, ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation), ventilation consumables, intubation tubes, intensive care monitors are subjected to prior authorization," Ruhsat Pekcan said in a tweet.

Today, the European Commission has decided to create a strategic rescEU stockpile of medical equipment such as ventilators and protective masks to help EU countries in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bulgarian Industrial Association reported.

The Global Times posted on Twitter a message from a spokesman for the Chinese minister, saying that China would stand firm with Serbia and send all necessary assistance.

"It's confidential," Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic told a press conference on Thursday when asked how many ventilators the country has.

"At this moment, this is treated practically as a state secret in all countries," Brnabic said, but assured reporters that "Serbia has enough ventilators."

Popular comedy actor Costas Voutsas remains on mechanical ventilation for the fourth day, Attikon hospital said in its first briefing on the health of the 88-year-old on Tuesday.

Voutsas was admitted to the cardiology unit on February 7 with symptoms of respiratory infection and impairment of cardiac and respiratory function, the hospital said.
