Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu spoke on the phone with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry over the latter's decision to remove the families of U.S. consulate personnel in Istanbul due to security reasons.  

A conference on the failed July 15 coup that was to be organized by the Union of European Turkish Democrats in Sweden was canceled on Oct. 14, allegedly due to pressure by an alderman. 
Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu had a phone conversation with Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallström over the incident and conveyed his unease on Oct. 14.

Three wanted members of the Gülen movement, believed to be behind Turkey's July 15 coup attempt, were deported from Malaysia on Oct. 13, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said on Oct. 14.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of a hospital in Antalya, Çavuşoğlu said Malaysia sent back to Turkey three members of the group who took refuge in the country. 

Troops and aircraft from five countries are deployed in southern Turkey's İncirlik Air Base, according to Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu. 

Ankara is ready to provide "all kinds of support" in the fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in a planned Mosul operation, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu vowed on Oct. 7, in response to a question on whether Turkey has proposed that its troops stationed in northern Iraq can take part in the offensive.

The Turkish government will permit German lawmakers visit to the İncirlik Air Base in the southern province of Adana in October following a request from Berlin, Deputy Prime Minister Nurettin Canikli said Sept. 19.

Ankara's anger against U.S. Ambassador to Turkey John Bass over his expression of concern regarding the appointment of trustees to 28 local municipalities due to alleged terror links continues to simmer, with Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu describing Bass' remarks as "provocative." 

Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has slammed the recent statement by the U.S. Embassy in Ankara, saying the U.S. ambassador in Turkey "is not a governor."

"Some statements, especially coming from our allies, make us sad at a time when we are fighting against terrorism," Çavuşoğlu said on Sept. 13 in his hometown Antalya.
