What Will Be the Most Sought After Professions in Bulgaria in 15 Years?

Estimates indicate that by 2034 the top occupations in the labor market search will be nurses and midwives, general education teachers for secondary and elementary education.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ralitsa Ganeva a member of a research team, who made medium and long-term forecasts for the labor market, said this at a forum at Moscow Park Hotel.

44-Year-Old Woman Gave Birth to Triplets in Sofia

Triplets were born on June 13, 2019, in First Gynecological Hospital "St. Sofia", the hospital reported.

The babies were delivered by Dr. Anton Baev, obstetrician-gynecologist, neonatologist Dr Krasimira Ivanova, pediatrician Dr. Dimitar Kolev, anesthetist Dr. Miroslav Stoyanov, midwife Teodora Kostova and assistant professor Nella Vladimirova.

The Bulgarian Government has Allocated BGN 50 Million for Nurses' Salaries

The Cabinet of Ministers has voted an additional BGN 50 million in the budget of the Ministry of Health for raising the salaries of nurses and healthcare professionals, it became known at the beginning of the regular session of the government. Starting salaries for both groups will be 950 leva, reports Dnevnik. 

Increase of Salaries of Healthcare Professionals in Sofia' Emergency Hospital "Pirogov"

The basic salaries of health care professionals, including nurses, midwives, rehabilitators at Pirogov University Hospital will be increased by BGN 60 to BGN 90 from 1 April. This provides an annex to the Collective Labor Agreement, signed by the trade union organization of CITUB in the healthcare facility, announced the press center of CITUB.

With a variety of colorful rituals, Bulgaria marks the day of midwives on January 21 on the so-called Babinden.

Traditions have it that early in the morning the midwives visit the children they have delivered, and wash their faces with water. Then the mother of the child helps the midwifewash her hands and gives her a bar of soap and a towel as a gift.

Drunk Man Attacked Midwife Again

A midwife from Stara Zagora has been attacked by a drunk man who wanted to see his newborn baby immediately, bTV said.

The incident occurred around 11:30 on Wednesday. The 28-year-old man of entered the clinic in the city along with his older child. They were not admitted at the entrance of the hospital , because the neonatology department is forbidden for outsiders.
