Gendarmes indicted over incident involving PM's brother

BELGRADE -- The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade has issued an indictment against eight members of the MUP Gendarmerie (Zanadarmerija) unit.

They are accused of attacking Andrej Vucic, the brother of Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, and Predrag Mali, the brother of Belgrade Mayor Sinisa Mali.

BELGRADE - The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade raised charges against eight members of the gendarmerie suspected of assaulting members of the military police during the Pride Parade in November last year, and dismissed criminal charges against two military police officers filed by the ombudsman.

BELGRADE -- Ombudsman Sasa Jankovic has released some of the documents of the Interior Ministry(MUP) about the incident during the Pride Parade in Belgrade.

Based on these he pressed criminal charges against two members of the Military Police. On September 28 last year, they clashed with members of the MUP Gendarmerie unit.

BELGRADE -- A member of the special military police unit Kobre ("Cobras") has died at the military clinic VMA after he was shot "during a routine weapons check."

The Ministry of Defense also announced on Tuesday that the victims was Milan Dosković, a 33-year-old who joined the military in 2001.

BELGRADE -- Commander of the Niš Gendarmerie detachment Nenad Kostić was dismissed and criminal charges have been filed against seven members of this police unit.

BELGRADE - Serbian Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic stated on Tuesday that the Military Police and the Military Security Agency are gathering information about the incident that occurred during the Belgrade Pride Parade on Sunday, when members of the Gendarmerie used force against Andrej Vucic, brother of Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic.
