Karlsruhe's Center for Art and Media is exhibiting a genetic copy of the left ear of Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh, which he cut off in 1888.

Museum officials are quoted by the Huffington Post Germany as saying the genetic "reconstruction" was created by Diemut Strebe, who used cells of an heir to Van Gogh, namely his brother's great-great-grandson, Theo.

An exhibition entitled American Pop Art showcases works by some of the greatest practitioners of the form at the New Moment Gallery (Hilandarska 14) from May 15 to June 15.

Designed to feature a wide range of art from heritage art to contemporary art, the public art pavilion will display the artworks of several Romanian and foreign artists including Brancusi, Klimt, Rembrandt, Picasso and Chagall.

In the galleries area, Romanian art valued at almost 1.5 million euro will be on display.
