The Turkish government can convince Booking.com to expand into the country through constructive meetings, Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci has said in the wake of a court decision to ban the online travel portal's operations to Turkish users within the country.  

More than 4,000 people will be employed to work in the construction of the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, a leading member of the consortium building the bridge has said.

The bridge is expected to be the longest suspension bridge in the world by its length of main span with 2,023 meters.

Russia has accused Turkey of violating WTO regulations on grain after Turkish importers largely ceased purchasing Russian grain even as officials in Ankara declared that no ban had been imposed on the product amid mutual recriminations on trade.

Turkish Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci has highlighted the need for a free trade deal between Turkey and the U.K. soon after Brexit.        

Zeybekci was in London where he attended an event organized by the think tank Chatham House on March 8.        

Turkish Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci met with the local Turkish community on March 5 at an event in the city of Cologne.        

The meeting comes ahead of the April 16 referendum on constitutional amendments, including the shift to an executive presidency from the current parliamentary system.

With Turkey embroiled in a row with Germany over the latter's decision to ban Turkish ministers from holding events in two German cities, the Netherlands has irked Turkish officials by taking a similar stance.

Top Turkish government officials have slammed the decision of Gaggenau and Cologne city authorities to revoke permission for scheduled rallies by Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag and Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci to address the Turkish community in Germany.

A municipality in Germany on March 2 canceled a meeting that was set to be attended by Turkish Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ citing capacity problems.

Bozdağ was slated to deliver a speech in a meeting organized by the Union of European Turkish Democrats (UETD) in the Gaggenau province.

The municipality said in a statement that it canceled the meeting due to incapacity.

Uzbekistan hopes to cooperate with Turkish businesspeople in the petrochemicals industry, said a top Uzbek official in a joint meeting in Istanbul on Feb. 27.
