A local award ceremony for the restoration of the Kılıç Ali Paşa Hamam, which won the EU Prize for Cultural Heritage/Europa Nostra Awards in 2017 in the category of conversation, is set to take place on April 12 in Istanbul.

The monument of Buzludja is among the seven most endangered cultural and historical sites in Europe, BNR reports. This was reported by the largest European non-governmental organization for the preservation of the cultural heritage "Europe Nostra", which has more than 250 associations from 47 countries.

An Albanian archaeological site and post-Byzantine churches, Bulgaria's UFO-like communist monument and an abandoned casino in the Romanian city of Constanta have been selected among the 12 finalists for the pan-European "7 Most Endangered Programme 2018".

Two Greek monuments, the Byzantine Church of St. Peter in Kastania, Mani and the traditional watermill in Agios Germanos, Prespes, are among the winners of the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Award 2016 that will be celebrated at an event to be held in May 24 at Zarzuela Theatre in Madrid.

The winners of the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage/Europa Nostra Awards 2015 were celebrated during a high-profile event at Oslo City Hall on June 11. 

The Armenian Church of Surp Giragos in Turkey's southeastern province of Diyarbakir received the award in the conservation category. 

The difficult task of preserving cultural heritage while at the same time giving it new life is being quietly achieved by people and organizations all around Greece, and three such initiatives were recognized by the European Commission and the Europa Nostra Pan-European Federation for Cultural Heritage during its annual awards ceremony this year.
