Oliver Stone backpedals after defending Harvey Weinstein
After initially jumping to Harvey Weinstein’s defense, director Oliver Stone walked back his comments Friday — saying he was “appalled” by the sexual harassment accusations against the disgraced movie mogul.
The 71-year-old Oscar winner also said he was cutting ties to the “Guantanamo” series due to the involvement with The Weinstein Company, which has fired the Hollywood horndog.

Sarajevo Film Festival organisers announced on Monday that the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo Award this year will be presented to Academy Award-winning scriptwriter and director Oliver Stone.
"Sarajevo Film Festival is honoured to pay tribute to the preeminent filmmaker," the organisers stated on their website.

Oliver Stone says US is creating "wars and chaos"/VIDEO
One of Hollywood's greatest filmmakers, Oliver Stone, "explained the essence of the US policy in the last 30 years" in a short speech, Sputnik is reporting.
The report noted that Stone "defined the functioning of America's 'system of just wars' and received thunderous applause" during his address several months ago at the Writers Guild Awards.

Vladimir Putin – while giving Oliver Stone a tour of the Kremlin – reportedly told the director, “I am not a woman, so I don’t have bad days. I am not trying to insult anyone. That’s just the nature of things. There are certain natural cycles.”
According to Bloomberg, Stone was visiting the Kremlin to film “The Putin Interviews,” an upcoming four-part documentary.

"There have been at least 5 attempts at Putin's life"
Russian President Vladimir Putin has told US filmmaker Oliver Stone that he was the target of several assassination attempts.
According to TASS, Stone said that he "heard of at least five assassination attempts on Putin," and continued:
