Acclaimed German saxophonist Reiner Witzel has been invited to join the Athens Big Band on stage at the Olympia Theater for a concert of classics and modern tunes. The Athens Municipality's Greek Music Workshop presents a tribute to Vicky Moscholiou (1943-2005) with a concert of some of the most iconic songs she performed over the course of her lengthy career working with the country's top composers and musicians. The concert tribute at the Olympia Theater features vocalists Lena Alkaiou and Erofyli and starts at 8.30 p.m.

Croatian music legend Oliver Dragojevichad died in Split, after a year-long battle with cancer.

Born in Vela Luka on the island of Korcula, Dragojevic has enjoyed a long career and was considered one of the most iconic music stars in Croatia.

Tourists walk among the ruins of Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games, in the Peloponnese, on Wednesday. The Culture Ministry announced on Wednesday that a chunk of stone that was illicitly taken from the site 80 years ago had been handed in. The relic was voluntarily returned by a German member of the public to the Greek Embassy in Berlin.

A fragment of a marble pipeline, which had been detached from the archaeological site of Ancient Olympia and illegally exported from Greece, was repatriated from Germany. The ancient object was delivered by a German citizen to the offices of the Greek Embassy in Berlin.

The Foundation of the Hellenic World presented an impressive virtual reality tour of Ancient Olympia, as part of the ceremony for the lighting of the Olympic torch, Friday, April 20.

Authorities in and around Ancient Olympia have been scrambling to prepare for the Olympic Flame lighting ceremony, which is to take place Thursday, collecting some 450 tons of garbage from the roads on the route along which the flame is to be carried.

Being the daughter of Prince Pavlov of Greece and his wife Marie-Chantal would make her an ideal candidate for Prince Harry, but sources close to the British royal family say that the rumors are simply “nonsense.”

Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece, as she likes calling herself, is allegedly the new girlfriend of the fun-loving royal Prince Harry, as the Australian magazine New Idea magazine says.

“Harry has fallen head over-heels with Maria-Olympia,” a royal insider tells. “He’s absolutely smitten. They’ve been on a string of dates and are planning to go skiing in Switzerland before Easter”.
