Israel Strikes Hamas Post After Gaza Rocket Fire

The Israeli military said on Sunday it destroyed an outpost belonging to the Islamist group Hamas in the Gaza Strip on Sunday after Gaza militants fired a rocket toward Israel, Reuters reports.
The rocket set off air raid sirens in southern Israel but fell short, landing inside Palestinian territory, the Israeli military said in a statement.

It usually started with a bit of cyberflirting. A direct message was sent through Facebook or another social network from an unknown woman to an Israeli soldier’s smartphone. Then, according to Israeli military officials, it developed into a chat in flawless Hebrew, heavily peppered with millennial slang.

 

“Good morning (smiley emoji),” one typical chat began.

 

Israeli air raid hits Gaza after rocket attack: Army

Israel carried out an air strike on the Gaza Strip early on Oct.5 in response to a Palestinian rocket attack from the territory, an army statement said. 

"Israel Air Force aircraft targeted a Hamas terror site in the northern Gaza Strip," it said.
 
The rocket was fired into southern Israel late on Oct.4 but hit open ground, the army said.
