Pahor and Mattarella to visit twin border cities next week
Ljubljana – The presidents of Slovenia and Italy, Borut Pahor and Sergio Mattarella, will visit Nova Gorica and Gorizia, the cities on each side of the Slovenian-Italian border, next Thursday to hail their title as the 2025 European Capital of Culture. On the occasion Pahor will decorate Mattarella with Slovenia’s top state honour.
Paris Court Finds Ex-President Sarcozy Guilty of Illegal Campaigning
Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy was found guilty Thursday of illegal campaign financing of his unsuccessful 2012 reelection bid.
Sarkozy wasn't present at the Paris court for the verdict's announcement.
The court stated that Sarkozy "knew" the legal limit was at stake and "voluntarily" failed to supervise additional expenses.
Leader of "Ataka" Volen Siderov Will Run for President
Ataka leader Volen Siderov has announced he will run for president.
He told this to reporters after registering the party to run in the upcoming November 14th parliamentary and presidential elections.
Volen Siderov explained that he appears to be an "alternative".

Ceausescu's presidential plane donated to National Museum of Romanian Aviation
The first and only passenger plane built in Romania, ROMBAC 1-11, used for the official flights of late dictator Nicolae Ceausescu and recently won at an Artmark auction, was donated to the National Museum of the Romanian Aviation on Wednesday. The collection piece was saved from scrapping by a true collector, a lover of technique, during the Elegance Auction on May 27.

Artmark auction sales at almost 6.6 ml euros in H1
Sales at Artmark auction house in the first half of the year totaled 6.58 million euros, the highest-selling lot being the Rombac 1-11 presidential plane used by former state leaders Ion Iliescu and Traian Basescu, the auction house said in a release. In H1 2021 the total volume of Artmark auctions increased 7 percent from 6.16 million euros in the first half of 2020 to 6.58 million euros.
