BELGRADE - Serbia has achieved an incredible success by thwarting Kosovo's back-door attempt to join the Council of Europe (CoE) but, unfortunately, the fight for our national interests does not end there, says Aleksandra Djurovic, who heads the Serbian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).

"The murder of an ambassador is among the gravest crimes under international law. Russia will not let this go unpunished."

Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said he expressed shock when he learned of the assassination of Russian Ambassador to Ankara Andrey Karlov in comments to Russian reporters late on Dec. 19 as he landed in Moscow where he is to meet counterpart Sergei Lavrov on Dec. 20.

The spouse of a deceased Russian pilot, who was killed after Turkish warplanes shot down a Russian aircraft on Nov. 24, 2015, over an alleged airspace violation, has said she is ready to meet Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

Turkey's foreign minister is renewing a threat to scrap an agreement with the European Union to stem the migrant flow if Brussels doesn't grant Turks visa-free entry, saying that Ankara won't wait until the end of the year.

During his official visit to the Turkish capital, French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault has criticized Ankara's comparison of the state of emergency in Turkey with the state of emergency in France. 

BELGRADE - Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic on Tuesday received the President of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) Pedro Agramunt to discuss the current international issues such as the refugee and the migrant crisis, the rise of nationalism and extremism in Europe and the fight against terrorism.

British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said he hoped for a "jumbo" new free trade deal with Turkey after the United Kingdom leaves the European Union, praising the quality of Turkey-made products - including his washing machine at home. 

BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Maja Gojkovic will attend the September 15-16 European Conference of Presidents of Parliament in Strasbourg.

Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has sought to assure the Council of Europe (CoE) that the Turkish government will be transparent in the post-coup attempt process, underlining that the European Convention of Human Rights (ECHR) would continue to be Turkey's guide, even during difficult times.
