Gojkovic to travel to Strasbourg

BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Maja Gojkovic will attend the September 15-16 European Conference of Presidents of Parliament in Strasbourg.

European parliament speakers will discuss the role and responsibility of parliaments in the migrant and refugee crisis in Europe, the cooperation between national parliaments and the Council of Europe - joint promotion of democracy, human rights and the rule of law as well as mobilising parliaments against hatred and racism, the Serbian parliament announced in a statement.

The conference will be attended by the presidents of parliaments of 37 countries and addressed by the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (CoE) Pedro Agramunt and CoE Secretary General Thorbjorn Jagland.
