95th Аnniversary of St. Nedelya Church Assault

Today, Bulgaria marks 95 years since the bloody assassination in Bulgarian history and also one of the most bloody in the world. 

 It was carried out on 16 April 1925, when a group of the Bulgarian Communist Party blew up the church's roof during the funeral service of General Konstantin Georgiev, who had been killed in a previous communist assault on 14 April.

Stages for Minor Action | Athens | To March 21

The artist plays with the two definitions contained in the word "stage" (as in a platform or a step). The installation comprises visual directions that can guide visitors through different scenarios.

A Monument of Pencho Slaveikov Was Opened in Milan

A monument-bench of Pencho Slaveikov was opened in Milan, BNR reported.

The Bulgarian Ambassador to Rome Todor Stoyanov and the Bulgarian Consul General in Milan Tanya Dimitrova opened the monument.

The event was attended by representatives of the municipalities of Milan and Sofia, former Italian ministers and cultural representatives.

Papantoniou's pre-trial detention extended by six months

A council of misdemeanor court judges on Wednesday rejected an appeal by former defense minister Yiannos Papantoniou to be released following a year in pre-trial custody.

Instead, the council extended his detention for another six months.

Papantoniou was remanded in custody in October 2018, and his wife Stavroula Kourakou in March of this year.
