Today, Bulgaria marks 95 years since the bloody assassination in Bulgarian history and also one of the most bloody in the world.

A council of misdemeanor court judges on Wednesday rejected an appeal by former defense minister Yiannos Papantoniou to be released following a year in pre-trial custody.

Instead, the council extended his detention for another six months.

Papantoniou was remanded in custody in October 2018, and his wife Stavroula Kourakou in March of this year.

According to the Serbian President, the goal is to further strengthen the friendship between the Armenian and Serbian people. Defence Minister Gabriel Les met on Thursday in Helsinki with his Greek counterpart, Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos, on the sidelines of the informal meeting of EU defence ministers; the two top officials discussed the "excellent Romanian - Greek military cooperation", the Ministry of National Defence (MApN) said in a release.

US European Commands chief General Tod D. Wolters has met with the head of Greece's National Defense General Staff, Christos Christodoulou, to discuss ongoing bilateral defense activities between the two nations, USEUCOM has reported.
