New Corinth-Patra highway inaugurated by Greek PM
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Tuesday inaugurated the new national highway linking Corinth to the western port of Patra, less than a week after presiding over the launch of a new motorway in Tempe, central Greece.

Shift to local destinations for Easter
Corfu appears to be the most popular destination for Greeks this Easter according to a Trivago survey which compiled the responses of people who visited the travel website from January 19 to March 11 planning trips from April 13 to 17.

French frigate La Fayette in the Corinth Canal (PHOTOS)
The French frigate La Fayette F710 sailed in Greek waters on its way to an undisclosed location.
In order to avoid a 400 km detour around the Peloponnese the frigate sailed through the Corinth Canal, giving to enthusiasts some amazing photo opportunities.

Pylos marina tender postponed again
The tender for the privatization of the marina at Pylos in the southwestern Peloponnese has been postponed another four months.
State sell-off fund TAIPED announced that the submission date for binding offers, which had been last Monday, has been changed to July 13, 2017.

New Byzantine museum opens its doors in Argos

Two Environmental Assessments approved for hydrocarbons research in W. Greece
The Greek Ministry of Environment and Energy approved the Strategic Environmental Impact Assessments for hydrocarbons research in two areas in Western Greece. This way the Parliament can now approve the activation of the contracts for Aitoloakarnania and Northwestern Peloponnese.
85 illegal immigrants rescued by Greek coastguard
The Greek coastguard rescued 85 illegal immigrants in the open seas off the west coast of Pylos in the west of Peloponnese, late last night. The immigrants were on a yacht and after being spotted were taken to the port of Kalamata. According to sources, one of the immigrants aboard the yacht sent a distress signal to the Kalamata police with a cell phone.

Hail and heavy rainfalls disrupt traffic in Peloponnese (photos)
Many sections of the Patras-Pyrgos national highway in the Peloponnese have been flooded due to the heavy rain, with a large part of the road covered in hail. It is the second day that the region of Ilia in the Peloponnese is experiencing heavy rainfalls, while areas in the Kampos plain are covered in snow.
