BBC denied request to film at Temple of Poseidon
The Central Archaeological Council (KAS) has refused a request by BBC producers for a one-day permit to film scenes next month at the Temple of Poseidon on Cape Sounio for an upcoming miniseries based on a spy novel by John le Carre.

Restoration work gets under way on Parthenon pediment
Restoration work on the western pediment of the Parthenon temple began Thursday as part of the ongoing project to restore and reconstruct monuments on the hill of the Acropolis.
The project, which was recently incorporated in the European Union-backed Partnership Agreement for 2014-20 known as ESPA, has a budget of 5 million euros.
National Archaeological Museum celebrates 150th anniversary

Russian fighter in 'unsafe' intercept of US plane: Pentagon
A Russian fighter jet flew within a little more than 3 meters (10 feet) of a U.S. Navy surveillance aircraft, in what American officials called an unsafe intercept over the Black Sea, the Pentagon said Sept. 7, although Moscow quickly insisted the encounter was within "international rules."

The people in the city center of Cambridge were befuddled as Poseidon and Athena took to the streets as part of a campaign to get children interested in history. When the gods aren’t sightseeing around Cambridge, they perform at the Cambridge Arts Theater as hosts for two shows from the Horrible Histories series where they portray Groovy Greeks.
Free events at ancient sites… by the light of the full moon!
140 events across dozens of archeological sites and museums around Greece are being held to celebrate the full moon on August 29. Apart from the concerts, theater performances, exhibitions, film screenings and other events there will be admission to all sites free of charge.
