Protests over responses to the COVID-19 pandemic

Ljubljana – A group of several thousand protesters again gathered in Ljubljana on Wednesday to protest against the Covid pass mandate in what was the third such protest. Starting in Republic Square, the rally moved to the ring road, which was closed for a while, as the police tried to break up the crowd, including by using a water canon.

French anti-riot police fired teargas on July 24 as clashes erupted during protests in central Paris against COVID-19 restrictions and a vaccination campaign, television reported.

Several thousand protesters gathered in Ljubljana's central Preseren Square on Tuesday for an anti-government protest intended to "warn of the accelerated degradation of democracy" in the country led by right-wing Prime Minister Janez Jansa.

Thousands of people protested in Stuttgart on April 3 against virus restrictions amid a heated debate throughout Germany on tightening the measures in the face of a third wave of COVID-19.

The protesters, few of whom were wearing face masks, marched from the city center to a main square in northeastern Stuttgart.

Israel could become the first country to emerge from the crown-virus pandemic, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Friday.
