Traffic regulations for 41st Peace Marathon in Athens
Athens will enforce traffic regulations this Sunday for the 41st Peace Marathon.
Between 8:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., there will be phased disruptions to vehicle traffic, along with no-parking and no-stopping zones on designated avenues and streets in Marathon - Nea Makri, Rafina - Pikermi, Pallini - Gerakas - Anthousa, Agia Paraskevi, Chalandri, and Psychiko - Filothei municipalities.
Suspicious envelope found at Russian embassy
A suspicious envelope was discovered at the Russian embassy in the northern Athens suburb of Palaio Psychiko on Friday morning.
Upon its discovery, embassy staff promptly alerted authorities. Soon after, members of the EMAK disaster response team and bomb disposal experts from the Greek Police (ELAS) arrived at the scene.

Strong rains, winds topple trees; shipping affected
The strong rains and winds across several parts of Greece felled trees and caused power outages.
Among the hardest hit areas were some of Athens' northern suburbs.
In the municipality of Filothei-Psychiko more than 40 trees were toppled and some streets remain closed to traffic, state broadcaster ERT reported.
Inactive hand grenade found outside an apartment building in Psychiko
A bomb scare prompted a police response after a resident reported a suspicious object resembling a coffee box at the entrance of an apartment building on Amarillidos Street at 1 p.m. in the Athenian neighborhood of Psychiko.
Big housing project at Psychiko
The largest residential development project that has ever been carried out in the Municipality of Filothei-Psychiko in northern Athens is designed by businessman Yiannis Papalekas. Having recently acquired a series of properties in the area, and installed the offices of his companies in a building in Neo Psychiko, he has succeeded in purchasing the last large free space in the area.

Pedestrian killed in Neo Psychiko, driver arrested
A pedestrian died after being struck by a car Sunday evening in the northern Athens suburb of Neo Psychiko.
The crash occurred shortly before 10 p.m. on Mesogeion Avenue near Haritonidou Street, officials said.
According to a police report, the pedestrian, identified as a 73-year-old man, was struck while he crossed Mesogeion Avenue on foot.

Police looking for man for leaving young son at home
Police on Friday were looking for a 42-year-old father accused of leaving his 7-year-old child alone in their house in the northern suburb of Neo Psychiko and taking off.
According to police, the 41-year-old mother of the child left it in the care of her husband, who then proceeded to lock the youngster up in a room and leave the house.
Police find nothing suspicious in Athens school after security alert
Police in Athens said on Thursday they found nothing suspicious in a sweep of a private school after receiving reports that two individuals had entered the school's premises holding sharp objects.
Police officers had rushed to Athens College, a co-educational private school in the northern suburb of Psychiko, after the alarm was raised by a school security officer.
