As the UNS has been told by the High Public Prosecutor's Office, the case concerning Vujasinovic's death remains in the pre-trial phase.

Prosecutor General Augustin Lazar on Wednesday, at the presentation of the 2017 activity report of the Public Ministry, said that the constitutional and legal provisions currently ensure the operational independence of prosecutors in making decisions and prevent interferences or interventions of other authorities from outside judiciary power.

MEPs approved the creation of a European Public Prosecutor's Office to investigate financial crimes against the EU. The vote was held in Strasbourg.
