Red Star Belgrade ease into semi-finals of Serbian football cup

BELGRADE - Title holders Red Star Belgrade are through to the semi-finals of the Serbian football cup after a 3-0 hammering of Division 1 side Vrsac at the Rajko Mitic Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Aleksandar Katai put Red Star in the lead in the 6th minute and substitutes Cherif Ndiaye and Osman Bukari scored in the 65th and the 82nd minute, respectively.

Vucic: Al Mubarak a personal friend of mine and great friend of Serbia

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met on Wednesday with UAE Executive Affairs Authority Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak, who is also the owner of the English Premier League club Manchester City FC, and noted that Al Mubarak was a personal friend of his as well as a great friend of Serbia.

Red Star Belgrade lose to RB Leipzig in UEFA Champions League

LEIPZIG - Red Star Belgrade lost 3-1 away to RB Leipzig in their UEFA Champions League Group G Matchday 3 game on Wednesday evening.

David Raum, Xavi Simons and Dani Olmo provided the goals for the German side in the 12th, 59th and 84th minute, respectively.

Marko Stamenic scored the only goal for the Serbian champions in the 70th minute.

Red Star draw with Young Boys at home in UEFA Champions League

BELGRADE - Red Star Belgrade drew 2-2 at home with Swiss side Young Boys in a UEFA Champions League Group G match on Wednesday evening.

In front of 50,000 spectators at the Rajko Mitic Stadium, Red Star's Cherif Ndiaye opened the scoring in the 35th minute following an Osman Bukari assist, and the goal was rightly allowed to stand after a VAR check.
