Partizan held to goalless draw, Vojvodina win, Cukaricki lose

BELGRADE - Partizan Belgrade were held to a goalless draw by Polish side Zaglebie Lubin at home in Thursday's first leg of the second round of UEFA Europa League qualifiers.

Thanks to a great performance by goalkeeper Martin Polacek, Zaglebie came away undefeated despite being down to ten men from the 55th minute, when Michal Papadopulos was sent off.

Red Star crowned champions of Serbia

BELGRADE - FC Red Star Belgrade won the championship title on Sunday after beating local rivals OFK Beograd 4-2 in the 29th, penultimate round of the Serbian football championship.

The home win against OFK Beograd gave Red Star their 26th championship title, the first in seven years.

Red Star lose to Budivelnik

KAUNAS - Red Star Belgrade lost to Budivelnik Kiev 82-79 (22-16, 19-23, 25-19, 16-21) in Kaunas late Tuesday in the first leg of their Eurocup Basketball quarter-final tie.

Red Star suffered a "tolerable" defeat after being on par with the opponent throughout most of the game.
